About Upstatek9 Boarding Kennels, LLC

Upstate K-9 Boarding Kennels sits on more than forty acres of countryside on Brick Schoolhouse Road in Hilton, and it is a boarding kennel first. It appears in a training directory because of one published program.

Board to Train

The Board to Train program is described as convenient and beneficial for both owner and pet, on the reasoning the site gives plainly: many owners simply do not have the time to properly train their pet. What distinguishes it from a group class is stated directly. The program is designed to give each dog its own one-on-one training regimen rather than training in a large group setting, which lets the trainer spend quality time with the dog and focus on its individual needs. The site contrasts this with obedience classes it describes as broad, running a generic program across multiple dogs at once.

The kennel behind it

The operation is deliberately small. It is family owned and run, the owners live on site and are the only employees, and the site says it emphasizes quality over quantity and will never take more dogs than it can properly care for. It describes itself as non-commercialized and says it never advertises trying to fill to maximum capacity. Only dogs are boarded, of all breeds and sizes.

What a stay looks like

The stated goal is ample outside time for every dog, with plenty of play and long walks. For a dog that is skittish or struggles on a leash, the site says extra time is allowed to run in the secure fenced grassy area instead. The kennel claims to be the cleanest around and describes the environment it wants as a relaxed home away from home.
