About West Los Angeles Obedience
What they offer
West Los Angeles Obedience Training Club is a volunteer-run nonprofit founded in 1951. It runs hands-on training classes for dogs and their handlers, and its own site says classes meet at the Cheviot Hills Recreation Center in West Los Angeles.
Classes
The club offers multi-level progressive obedience and puppy training, Canine Good Citizen training with ongoing CGC testing, and training and mentoring for owners who want their dogs to become therapy dogs. Its specialty classes include agility, rally, tricks and nose work, and it hosts agility trials, fun runs and community testing days for tricks and CGC titles.
Membership
Classes are open to the community, and members get priority enrollment, member-only classes and meetings with expert speakers. The club describes its approach as humane training that promotes responsible dog ownership.
