About What’s Up Dog
Daycare, boarding and training in Houston
What's Up Dog is a family-started dog daycare, boarding, grooming and training facility at 2071 Antoine Drive in Houston, serving Spring Branch, Spring Shadows, Memorial, Hedwig Village, Piney Point Village and Spring Valley Village. Every breed is welcome, and daycare runs in small, temperament-tested groups watched by technicians trained to read body language.
Training
Training is led by Isabella Boone, CPDT-KA, who co-founded What's Up Dog in 2019, has a background in veterinary medicine from Texas A&M University and started training with service dogs in college. She is the behavior specialist for the daycare and boarding dogs and competes in dog sports. Training protocols are personalized to each dog's learning style and motivators. The five-week Basic Obedience class ($225) covers sit, down, coming when called, place, leave it, drop it, heel position, loose leash walking and polite greetings. Intermediate Skills ($200, four weeks) mixes advanced obedience with practical tricks. CGC Prep, Trick Dog and Ready Set Run classes also appear on the calendar.
Private lessons and AKC testing
A 1-hour private lesson is $120, held in the playcare room Friday through Sunday or at your home during the week. As an AKC Evaluator, Isabella tests for Canine Good Citizen, Trick Dog, Virtual Home Manners and S.T.A.R. Puppy ($30). Slat mill sessions offer extra exercise.
