Wholistic Woofers & Co. is a dog and cat training center in Missouri City, located outside the Quail Valley area at 1100 FM 1092 Road. It began as a mobile private training service and now trains in groups, privately at its center or one-on-one in the owner's home, serving southwest-central Houston, Sugar Land, Stafford, Richmond, Rosenberg and Pearland. Vivian S. Tjeng is the founder and lead pet trainer.

Approach

The team describes positively reinforcing, low-stress training that looks at a pet's physical, mental, social and emotional needs. Owners receive a training plan, video and written material, games for real-life results and guidance on activities and nutritional support. Pet parents stay for all training, and pets are not sent away to train with others.

Programs

One-on-one basic obedience is available at the location of the owner's choice, as pay-as-you-go or a 4-session package, for dogs and cats. The team works with fear-based reactivity and separation distress cases, and runs an AKC Canine Good Citizen Bootcamp of five prep classes plus a test session, useful for dogs aiming at therapy work. Cat training and behavior management sessions are offered too. The business also makes custom treats, takes pet portraits and has a Zen Garden at the center.
