About In Tandem Dog Training

Two separate lanes: service dogs and pet dogs

In Tandem Dog Training runs under the tagline "Alongside each other; Together," and its site is organized around two distinct programs rather than one class list. The first is the Ability Dogs Program, which the site directs people to "for information regarding the Service Dog Program or Puppy Raising in the Quad Cities." Its menu breaks that down into facility dogs, puppy raising, evaluations for service work and access issues. The second is Pet Dog Training, signposted "for more information about training a pet, or a handi-capable pup in the quad cities or via Zoom," with one-on-one training and group classes listed underneath it.

Puppy raising, and what it asks of volunteers

Puppy raising is given its own headline, "Raise a Puppy, Save a Life." A social post embedded on the homepage states the program is actively recruiting: "We are in need of puppy raisers! All costs covered and puppies available NOW!!" Other embedded posts show service dogs in training working on task work and walking pace, and carry the hashtag #aversivefree.

Before you book

Ask who will train your dog, where sessions take place and what they cost. A Dog Friendly: Quad Cities page is listed in the menu as a local resource. Owners interested in either lane should make contact to compare it against a conventional class school.
