About Lake Country K9 to 5
The proposition
Lake Country K9 to 5 puts its idea in its tagline – "Where Dogs Go to Work & Play" – and describes itself as "Small-group, structured daycamp & training services that prioritizes calm & consistent behavior." The home page lists dog training, enrichment daycamp, group walks and nail trims, and names Ashley Faust as owner. The framing is repeated on the services pages: this is structured supervision, not open play.
Training classes
Training is sold as a ladder. The menu publishes a Beginner/Puppy Group Class, an Intermediate Group Class and Advanced Obedience, with Private Training Sessions and Workshops alongside. Signup runs from each service page – "Click the Blue Sign up Button, Select the Class or Workshop you wish to join" – or by phone, and the FAQ asks for "a Minimum of 2 weeks prior to the listed start date"; it also warns that a class with no signups seven days before its listed start date is subject to being called off.
Puppy pre-school
The most distinctive program is the puppy course, which the site is careful to distinguish from daycare: "This is not traditional daycare. Our program is intentionally designed around your puppy's developmental needs – combining learning, play, enrichment, socialization, and rest." Puppies "enroll at approximately 10 weeks of age and attend 3 days per week on Monday, Wednesday & Friday for the duration of the 10-week program," with owner drop-off from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM and pickup between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Staff transportation is offered at $10.50 each way. The site says "enrollment is extremely limited" and that "puppies must attend all scheduled days each week." The stated rationale is developmental: "The first few months of your puppy's life are a critical time for learning, confidence, and social development. The experiences your puppy has during this period can influence how they respond to the world for years to come."
Method and equipment
The FAQ answers the method question directly: "Our trainers are Certified dog Trainers through Catch Canine Trainers Academy and AKC Certified CGC, Trick Dog and Fit Dog 1 Evaluators. We Use Positive Reinforcement and Follow Lima Protocols for all our training Classes. (Cookies & Calm)" The equipment rule is not negotiable at class – owners must bring "a Copy of Up to date vaccines" if not uploaded at signup, and "Your dog Must be on a flat collar or harness – NO Choke/prong or shock collars will be allowed," with "4 or 6 ft leash – NO FLEXI LEASHES" and high-value treats.
The rest of the operation
Beyond training the site books puppy preschool, daycare, a hiking daycamp and boarding, and describes the staff as "Professional. Reliable. Bonded and Insured" and "Trusted and highly trained." Ask about class fees when you sign up.
