About Behavior Solutions
What it is
Behavior Solutions is not a training school. It is a behavior-exclusive veterinary practice consulting from Ashburn Professional Park, 20604 Gordon Park Square, Suite 110. That distinction matters: this is where cases go when the behavior may have a medical component, or when training alone has not worked.
Who runs it
Dr. Leslie Sinn, DVM, DACVB, CPDT-KA, Fear Free Certified. She is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists – the board certification for veterinary behavior – and separately a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, Knowledge Assessed, through the CCPDT. The credentials list also states "400+ hours of animal behavior and psychology specific postgraduate coursework" and "40+ years practical experience teaching, training and working with dogs, cats, horses, llamas, cattle, goats, sheep, pigs, raptors, parrots, exotics, zoo and laboratory animals". She is a former Assistant Dean and Professor on the Veterinary Technology Program at Northern Virginia Community College, and took her DVM, small animal internship and animal science degree at the University of Georgia. Northern Virginia Magazine listed her among its best veterinarians every year from 2017 to 2022.
Two colleagues are named: Stacie, LVT, PMCT-1, CPDT, Fear Free Certified; and Brenda, a Fear Free certified veterinary assistant.
What they treat
The published list is clinical in scope: aggression towards people, separation anxiety, thunderstorm phobias, fear of fireworks and gunshots, house soiling, leash reactivity, inter-dog and inter-cat aggression, travel-related problems including car sickness, repetitive behaviors such as light chasing and fly snapping, destructive behavior, fear of the groomer or vet, vocalization, attention-seeking behavior, cognitive dysfunction in older animals, and generalized anxiety.
The practice is not dog-only. Asked whether Dr. Sinn treats just dogs and cats, the site answers: "No! Dr. Sinn treats all kinds of pets! While dogs and cats are most common, she also has helped horses, pigs, parrots and other exotics."
How to book
Appointments are booked online. The contact page asks you to say up front "if you are seeking a house call or if you have special needs, for example if you are an equine or exotics owner". A separate prescription refill route exists for existing clients, and the site publishes handouts and forms for both owners and referring veterinarians.
