About Desantos Dogs

DeSanto's Dogs has been training dogs in the Charlotte area since 1979, and its own site is written in the first person by the trainer, who is explicit that he is not a broker or a breeder.

What it trains

The published range is wide and specific: obedience taught in individual and group lessons with verbal and hand signals; behavioral work; personal protection, where the site says the dog is trained to respond protectively on command or independently if the owner is threatened, covering home, property, business, personal and vehicle protection; guard dog work; and tracking, taught as scent work to locate people through targeted exercises and positive reinforcement. Scent training is offered both as part of a purchased dog's program and on an owner's existing dog. Assistance work is published as its own line, covering service dogs, emotional support dogs and therapy dogs.

Dogs of Your Dreams

Alongside training there is a program selling fully trained dogs. The site describes them as veterinarian health certified, obedience trained to verbal and hand signals, socialized, and house, crate, car, bicycle, jogging and agility-course trained. The trainer says he delivers the finished dog personally and stays on site to help the new owner take over, with videos provided to acclimate the owner to the technique.

The trainer's published background

He lists law enforcement, security, therapy, tracking, conformation showing, assistance work for people with disabilities, obedience, scent detection and personal protection, and says he has worked with clients in the entertainment, sports and political fields. The site publishes a satisfaction guarantee and a silent-command obedience line.
