About Blissful K9

Who they are

Blissful K9 is a Rome dog-training business offering private training, a boot-camp program and boarding. Its site says the business is led by a Certified Obedience Trainer and Behavior Modification Specialist with nearly a decade of hands-on experience, including more than four years working as a trainer inside Humane Society shelters in Florida, and that it has worked with hundreds of dogs across breeds, ages and behavioral backgrounds.

Method

The approach is described as positive-reinforcement based and built on “clear communication, structure, and positive reinforcement-based training.” The tool policy is stated outright rather than implied: “Blissful K9 does not use shock collars, prong collars, or choke chains.” The stated mission is to give owners the knowledge, structure and skills to raise well-behaved, confident dogs.

In the community

The site says Blissful K9 was voted “Best of Rome Dog Trainer” for three consecutive years and that it has volunteered with P.A.W.S. of Rome for over three years, with a stated focus on rehabilitation and responsible placement for shelter dogs.
