About The Pet Connection
What they offer
The Pet Connection, at 9010 Rosehill Rd in Lenexa, is an animal rescue and behavior training organization founded in 1999 in Mission, Kansas. The site says it has rehabilitated hundreds of dogs and cats with aggression, fear and anxiety issues, and its training team works with pet owners as well as its own rescues.
Training options
In-home training sessions take place at home, in a park or neighborhood, or at the owner's workplace, for problems like reactivity to dogs on walks. Group puppy classes for puppies under a year run once a week for six weeks with no more than four puppies, plus a four-week advanced puppy class. A day train gives the dog several one-on-one sessions across a full day. Board and train runs at its site in Beloit, Kansas, and a stay-and-train option lets owners stay on site with their dog in a sanctuary apartment while receiving daily coaching. Trainer-run social playgroups are offered for dog-social dogs, including separation anxiety dogs in its program.
Good to know
The team page lists a founder and animal behaviorist and trainers including a CBCC-KA. The site says many clients' fees are subsidized to meet individual circumstances, and services are offered at several locations.
