About Bounding Hound
Social Training in Coralville
BoundingHound is a training facility at 2345 James Street, Units 6 and 7, in Coralville, built around its own Social Training philosophy and also offering daytime and overnight care and grooming. The team includes Loren Prottsman, who grew up around dogs in Algona.
Method
Social Training aims to help dogs relax, de-escalate and navigate real-life situations, with exercise and social time at its core. The focus is on calm, non-command behavior such as staying off counters, less barking and jumping, and chewing their own toys, while basic commands like sit, down, stay, name recognition and potty training are woven in. Everything is done with positivity, confidence and structure. The team works with jumping, excessive barking, digging, separation anxiety and more, and works one-on-one with owners.
Levels and prices
New dogs take a three-day assessment and are placed at a level from 1 to 5. Daytime sessions run $33 to $58 and overnight sessions $61 to $86, depending on level. Grooming and a dog taxi are available to current clients.
What owners say
One client wrote: "The BoundingHound team truly 'gets' dogs. They put so much trust in them and give them the freedom to be themselves."
