About Canine Behavior Connection
What they offer
Canine Behavior Connection is a dog training and behavior practice run by Kara Polansky. Its contact page gives Keenesburg, CO 80643, and she sees clients in their homes in Denver's northern suburbs, including Commerce City/Reunion, Brighton, Fort Lupton, Hudson and Lochbuie, and virtually across the country. Private behavior consulting sessions last about 60 minutes, in person or remote. Board-and-train stays are customizable and take one dog at a time in her home. Day training sessions add hands-on work alongside regular consulting sessions. Puppy Right Start takes puppies 8 to 20 weeks old into her home, with a focus on socialization and field trips. Cases include basic manners, potty training, leash reactivity, anxiety and aggression.
How they train
The site describes a "positive reinforcement/LIMA (least invasive, minimally aversive)" approach that usually uses just a body harness and leash or long line, and says she will never use fear, intimidation or pain.
Good to know
The site lists Kara as a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant, a CPDT-KA and an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator. It says she does not take severe separation anxiety, aggression between dogs in the same household, or extreme aggression cases. Discounts are offered for dogs in rescue.
