Creekside Den
Overview
About Creekside Den
What they offer
Creekside Den is a board and train program in Rochester where dogs in training live as part of the trainer's family, in a home with a big yard, instead of a kennel. Only one or two dogs are in training at a time, so each spends the day playing, relaxing and training with constant company, and sleeps in a heated or air-conditioned bedroom.
How the program works
Owners get weekly reports by email, text or phone, and dogs get supervised outdoor play every day. Each program ends with a one-hour go-home lesson so the owner learns to follow through, plus a follow-up lesson within a month and ongoing phone and email support. The focus is on good manners in the home and reliable obedience.
About the trainer
Kerry Coombs, a canine training and behavior specialist, began training dogs professionally in 2004 and has worked with search and rescue, guide dog, competitive IPO, hunting and retriever dogs, and as an instructor at a school for dog trainers. The approach is balanced, built on clear communication, trust and respect.
