What they offer

The dog training service inside the Petco store on Foothill Boulevard in Rock Springs runs six-week group classes and private sessions built around positive reinforcement and practical everyday skills. Group classes are an hour long, with up to four other dogs and their owners, and are open to all ages and breeds.

Group class levels

The puppy class is for puppies from 8 to 16 weeks and covers potty training, socialization and foundation cues such as sit, down and come. The beginner class, for puppies from 16 weeks to 6 months, builds on those with loose-leash walking, leave it, wait, tricks and games. The fundamentals class for dogs over 6 months works on core cues and on curbing jumping and barking, and the advanced class covers heel, recall with distractions and polite greetings.

Private sessions

Private sessions last 45 minutes, with one-on-one time with a trainer, a customized plan and flexible scheduling, and new customers can start with an introductory lesson. Bring a leash and collar or harness, proof of vaccinations and training treats to each class.
