About 802 K9 Training
Training built on a dog's drives
802 K9 Training is a South Burlington dog trainer that works with each dog's genetic drives, using a scientific approach with an emphasis on cooperation and play. Sessions are held where they help most: basic skills are typically mastered at home or in a fenced yard, then proofed at local parks and trails. Additional charges apply for travel outside Chittenden County.
What it helps with
The team works on leash pulling, leash reactivity, separation anxiety, puppy training, reliable off-leash recall, e-collar training and muzzle conditioning. Its process starts by identifying the dog's triggers and environment, then finding what the dog finds rewarding and spotting where owners may be rewarding unwanted behavior. Wedding day dog attendant services and a social group are also offered.
About Katie
Founder and head trainer Katie has been involved in rescue for the past 8 years and has fostered upwards of 50 different dogs. In 2021 she took Ivan Balabanov's Training Without Conflict course and regularly attends its summits and seminars.
What owners say
One client wrote that after an hour and a half session with their leash-reactive dog, "he was literally a different dog."
