About Canine Harmony Dog Training

In-home training from Gilmanton Ironworks

Canine Harmony Dog Training is run by Susan Kahn, VSA-CDT, a certified professional dog trainer based in Gilmanton Ironworks. She cites 15+ years experience in dog training, pet sitting and animal rescue, is a graduate of the Victoria Stilwell Academy for Dog Training & Behavior, a professional member of APDT International and a full active member of the Animal Training Academy.

Approach

Training is fear-free and reward-based, with rewards ranging from treats and toys to play, praise and real-world rewards. Susan excludes shock collars, prong collars, choke collars and other punishment-based methods. When possible, work begins off-leash in a secure indoor setting or fenced yard, owners take an active part, and handouts and step-by-step instructions support practice between sessions.
