Stonington daycare and training center

My Dog's Place runs its Stonington location at 50 Taugwonk Spur Rd, with a second facility in East Lyme. The center combines daycare with training classes and activities for dogs of all ages and levels, and also provides private, in-home training and consultations for reactive, unwanted or destructive behavior. Training is taught through all positive reinforcement methods, with no choke, pinch or shock collars or physical corrections allowed in the facility.

Instructors

Marge Lineweber, owner and manager since 2002, sets the class schedules and curriculums and teaches many of the classes. She is a Certified Pet Dog Trainer and an AKC approved Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. Kristie Foss teaches agility and uses clickers for training and behavior work, and Kathy Howard is a CPDT-KA instructor.

Programs

Classes run from Puppy Primer through the Companion Dog series to Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog, plus extracurriculars such as retrieving, scent work, frisbee, agility and canine water sports. Puppy playgroups serve puppies from 10 weeks to 6 months, and adult and puppy daycare are offered after an application.
