Positive reinforcement facility in Mystic

Lucky Dog is a positive reinforcement training facility at 800 Flanders Rd in Mystic, offering training classes, private training, day training, conditioning, hydrotherapy and an indoor dog pool. Lucky Dog came to life in 2021, started by Catharine Garbo, who holds an MBA, the CPDT-KA and the Certified Professional Canine Fitness Trainer (CPCFT) credential. Trainer Kathy Freeman is certified through the Pet Professional Accreditation Board as a PCT-A.

Classes

Group classes are limited to six dogs and include an outdoor portion. Recent six-week classes include Puppy Kindergarten, Basic Manners and Therapy Dog at $220, with four-week Intro to AKC Scent Work, Loose Leash Walking & Recall and Intro to Rally Obedience at $140. A Calm & Confident reactivity class is limited to 4 dogs at $320, and scent mock trials are held too.

Private training, day training and conditioning

Private training is $100 an hour or $50 a half hour at the client's home, the facility or out and about. Play & Learn day training is $80 a session in small groups of up to five dogs, with one-on-one time for each. Hydrotherapy on an underwater treadmill is $55 a session or $300 for a six-pack.
