About Dogs By Design Inc

Training, boarding and grooming in Effingham

Dogs by Design is a family-run pet care business at 1300 E. Rickelman Avenue in Effingham. It offers training, grooming, limited boarding, workshops and private lessons. The site says one owner trained as a professional dog trainer and groomer, with instruction in obedience, protection, agility and tracking.

Training options

Pack Classes bring owners and dogs together for basic obedience, manners and socialization in six-week sessions. In-Kennel Training is a stay of at least a week of formal training, with private lessons in the facility included. Private lessons are recommended after on-site training, or for dogs that show aggression toward other dogs or in class settings.

Specialty work

Specialty training is listed for agility, Schutzhund, AKC competition and tricks, and specific training problems can be arranged.

Note

The website is an older site, so check current class times and prices by phone.

What to ask

Ask when the next pack class starts, how long an in-kennel stay would run for your dog, and whether private lessons can be held away from the facility.
