Lone Star K9 Companion Training LLC is a locally owned dog training business in Livingston, built around the motto "A Companion You Can Trust." Owner and lead behavioral trainer Travis Yantes started the company as Lone Star Dog Training in 2016 and says the team brings 10 years of experience. He is certified by Canine Trade Group and through the American Kennel Club as a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator.

Programs

Puppy 101 is an in-home program for young puppies. Basic Obedience, for dogs 5 months and older, is taught in in-home sessions with a customized plan, followed by Advanced Obedience proofed in the real world and Off-Leash Control focused on recall and reliability around distractions. Behavior modification covers fear aggression, sibling aggression, resource guarding and leash reactivity. Board and Train is an intensive four-week program with indoor pet suites and owner sessions afterward, and Reverse Board and Train brings focused sessions to the owner's home or the facility while the dog stays at home. Scent detection is also offered.

Approach and facility

The team builds customized plans, trains in the environment the dog will live in, and coaches the owner every step of the way. The 2,000 sq ft facility has a turf training and play area.
