About A Dog’s Purpose Training Academy & Pet Photography

A Dog's Purpose Training Academy is a private, one-trainer business serving Winston-Salem and the surrounding communities, with over 15 years of dog training experience published on the site.

How the program is laid out

The site's own sections are Puppy Boot Camp, Beginner 1 and 2, Intermediate and Advanced, Specialty Training and Behavior Modification, with an Areas of Focus page and a published Packages and Pricing page. Training videos and a Furry Graduates gallery sit alongside them.

The trainer's stated goal

The about text is written in the first person by Krystle, and it sets out a position that shapes what a client should expect: "My goal is to teach you how to train your dog. I will work with your dog however, my primary goal is for your dog to listen and spend quality time with you, not me." She adds that it is essential for owner and dog to learn together and for all household members to be on the same page.

Method

The published method is positive reinforcement, which the site explains in terms of operant conditioning – rewarding a wanted behavior with play, verbal praise or a treat, consistently and immediately, and avoiding punishment-based methods. The curriculum is described as working for dogs from puppyhood to their senior years.

The other half of the business

Pet photography is a second service under the same name, booked from the same site.
