About Hound’s Tooth Academy For Dogs

Hound's Tooth Academy For Dogs is a training facility on South Main Street in Lexington that has been running family dog training since 2012. Its own site says it was "Voted Best Dog Trainer in the 2023 Dispatch 'Best Of' Awards".

What you can book

The site's service menu is group classes, board and train, and private lessons. The group program is laid out as a ladder rather than a single class: Puppy PreSchool for puppies aged 10 weeks to 5 months, a Beginner Obedience group that meets once a week for an hour over five weeks, a Public Manners class for dogs that have finished beginner level or have the equivalent skills, and a Level 3 Obedience class for dogs that have completed Beginner and Level 2.

How the classes are pitched

The business does not present a fixed curriculum. Its own wording is that it does not believe in a "one size fits all" approach and customizes each plan "to suit your dog's personality, your goals, and your lifestyle". Inquiries are directed to Kat@houndstoothacademy.com.

Where it draws from

The site describes the location as within easy driving distance of Forsyth, Guilford, Randolph and Rowan counties, and names Winston-Salem, Clemmons, Greensboro, High Point, Thomasville and Denton among the places it serves.
