A Paw Above Dog Training is run by Beth Harrison, a certified trainer who teaches private in-home and group lessons across Valencia, Stevenson Ranch, Newhall, Saugus, Canyon Country and Castaic using only positive methods. She describes more than 13 years of teaching and work with energetic puppies, juveniles, aggressive adults and rescue dogs.

Puppy classes

Early socialization is the main focus. The puppy class lets puppies socialize in a supervised, safe setting while owners learn diversion, appropriate play and distraction management. Puppies work on focus, recall, sit, down, stay, leave it, going to bed, bite inhibition and an introduction to the leash, and owners learn about house training and crate training. An older pup class is also offered.

Evaluations

As an AKC evaluator, the trainer can certify dogs for AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy and Canine Good Citizen.
