About Dogs Plus Love

Dogs Plus Love, formerly Animal Behavior Solutions, is a dog behavior consulting practice in Dexter. It "offers in-person consultations in Dexter, MI and surrounding communities and virtual consultations everywhere". The consultant holds a master's degree in animal behavior and has run the practice since 2002.

The work is behavior consulting. The services page lists aggression, reactivity, resource guarding, noise sensitivities, fear and anxiety, destructive behaviors, elimination behaviors, separation related behaviors, barking and compulsive behaviors.

How it works

The first step is a free 15-minute discovery call. From there you can book a basic initial consultation – a questionnaire, an hour-long virtual consultation, an hour-long in-home session and a phone follow-up – or a behavior change package of three or six one-hour sessions every two weeks, in person or virtual, with a behavior change plan report, videos and protocols after each session, phone or Zoom check-ins and video review. The price of the initial consultation is deducted from a package bought afterwards. Travel outside the service area may add a fee.

Method

The practice commits to "positive modern training methods that prioritize the physical and emotional well-being of both dogs and their people" and to "positive and humane methods based on the latest science".
