About Learning Dog Behavior & Enrichment Services

Delores Carter founded Learning Dog Behavior & Enrichment Services to help "families across

Livingston County build stronger relationships with their dogs." The practice is based in Livingston

County, MI and provides "in-home and virtual training for families across: Livingston County, MI /

Ann Arbor / Ypsilanti / Dexter / South Lyon". Virtual behavior consultations are available anywhere

in Michigan.

Current status

The site states, in two places: "We are not accepting new clients at this time. Please contact

Mindful K9 for your behavior and training needs."

Program

**Behavior Change** — "For dogs struggling with fear, anxiety, or reactivity". Described as a

12-session journey that "helps dogs rebuild confidence and feel safe again". It includes an initial

behavior consultation, a customized step-by-step training plan, and ongoing communication and

coaching support. Best suited to "Dogs displaying fear, anxiety, overarousal, or aggressive

behavior."

The published process is: "1. Schedule a Call — We'll discuss your goals and challenges. 2. Book Your

Evaluation — During this 2-hour session, we'll uncover where your dog is struggling. 3. Get Started

— Begin your personalized behavior change journey with Delores."

Approach

"Our work goes beyond obedience to address the why behind your dog's behavior—helping you meet their

emotional, social, and biological needs in sustainable ways." Delores describes her own position on

labels directly: "I use modern, science-based methods without relying on labels like 'force-free' or

'positive-only.' Instead, I focus on what matters most: well-being, trust, and connection. Training

should never be about perfection—it's about progress, empathy, and helping both humans and dogs feel

successful."
