About Another Approach Behavior Solutions

What they offer

Another Approach Behavior Solutions serves Tacoma, Olympia and the greater Puget Sound with in-home and virtual consultations. Its dog behavior consultations, led by Jean Whitehead, address aggression toward people or dogs, separation anxiety and destructive behavior, reactivity and lunging on leash, excessive barking, aggression toward children or a new baby and dogs that have bitten. Dog training services teach obedience and manners behaviors such as coming when called, going to a bed and staying, polite greetings and not dashing out doors, and a puppy behavior service helps head off problems early. The practice also works with cats and offers a video-based pain screen reviewed by a veterinarian, since pain can drive problem behavior.

How they train

The practice separates skill training from behavior modification, which uses counter-conditioning to change how a dog feels in specific situations.
