About Aspens Corner LLC

Aspens Corner is an in-home boarding and daycare property at Cochecton that also runs a training program, and its puppy work is built into the daycare day rather than sold as an evening class.

Smart Start Puppy School

This is the most distinctive thing the business publishes. A puppy is dropped off for the day, and the trainer — not a daycare attendant — shapes the day around age-appropriate training sessions covering skill development, manners and obedience, with chew and play toys, outdoor toileting and dedicated nap time in between. At pickup the owner gets a written summary of the day plus handouts and reminders for reinforcing what the puppy learned. The stated rationale is that habits set early prevent problems in adolescence and adulthood.

One-on-one training

Private sessions are written around the individual dog, whether the goal is a specific behavior problem, cleaner obedience cues or a more specialized objective. Virtual appointments are offered for owners who would rather work from home, and the business also publishes training webinars.

Boarding and daycare

Three distinct options are published. In-home boarding gives dogs the run of the house, furniture included, with 24-hour care; kennel boarding is the alternative for dogs that do not do well in a group, in 4×4 kennels with raised beds and access to a fenced yard through the day; and daycare runs 7am to 6pm. Meet-and-greets are mandatory before any stay, and the site is careful to say this is not a kennel operation and that availability is limited and fills early.

Who runs it

Heather owns the business and is its trainer. The site records her as certified by the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen evaluator and a graduate of the Karen Pryor Professional Program, with puppy training and basic obedience as her stated areas of expertise. She graduated from the Sullivan County BOCES Animal Science program and has continued her education since. None of those appear in the New York registry scans this directory holds, so all are recorded as claimed rather than confirmed.
