Be In The Pack
Overview
About Be In The Pack
Be In The Pack runs in two cities – Los Angeles and Nashville – and is unusual enough in shape that it is worth being clear what it is and is not. It is a wellness-framed private training practice founded in 2008 by Heidi and Holli Lawrence, not a board-and-train kennel or an obedience school.
What you can book here
Three things. Be A Pack Leader is the training line, and the stated goal is to work themselves out of a job: "We train you to become your own dog trainer, leading your pack wherever you go." Be Well Adventures are weekly wellness and adventure outings for your dog, described as ocean, city and mountain training adventures and pitched at everyone, "whether you're a new owner starting your journey or an expert looking to level up". Be In The Pack Club is a members' community, currently operating a waitlist. Sessions are private and semi-private only; ask about prices.
The entry condition worth knowing before you call
The boarding studio is not open to the public. The site states it plainly: "PACK STUDIO LOS ANGELES & NASHVILLE – BY REFERRAL ONLY. A direct referral from a current pack member is required for entry into the boarding studio." If you do not already know a client, boarding here is not available to you.
Method
Described as holistic and pack-based, "targeting your dogs instinctual pack mentality and building confidence by trust and respect for you as their pack leader", with each session tailored and a stated emphasis on "attention to detail, technique, and energy". The site tells you the philosophy rather than the curriculum, so ask about tools, certifications and which behavior problems they take on.
Who this suits
Owners who want a low-volume private practice with an ongoing wellness and outings component, and who are comfortable that the published material describes an approach rather than programs. Owners with an urgent aggression or reactivity case should establish scope on the phone first.
