About Blue Line Bird Dogs

What they offer

Blue Line Bird Dogs is a veteran- and family-owned training facility in Elgin that trains hunting dogs, mainly pointing breeds, for the field. Services include a one-day evaluation of a dog's natural ability to find, point and retrieve birds, one-on-one private sessions with the trainer, a two-week evaluation with the dog housed in the kennel, and gun dog training in which the dog stays at the facility for daily sessions and exercise. It also offers gunning and handling for dogs entered in NSTRA field trials.

About the trainer

The site says trainer Chad Matthews has worked with hunting dogs for more than ten years, is a certified NSTRA judge, and was a law enforcement K-9 handler.

Good to know

Kennel space fills before the season, and private sessions may still be available when the kennel is booked, so ask about current openings.
