About California Search K9 Training Academy

What they offer

California Search K9 runs a K9 obedience training academy on Gabbert Road in Moorpark alongside its law enforcement detection and trailing work. Its instructors are active law enforcement and search and rescue K9 handlers who bring field experience into every class.

The obedience course

Each course runs eight weeks and builds from foundational obedience to control under distraction and stress. Training includes exposure to urban environments, scent distractions and handler-focused drills. Owners learn leash handling, voice control, body language and situational awareness, because the course trains the handler as much as the dog. New classes start every eight weeks.

Detection and tracking

The company also provides cadaver detection and tracking and trailing services with certified law enforcement canines for agencies in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
