Canine Magic is an in-home dog training company in Orlando serving Central Florida, including Winter Park and Windermere. Founder, owner and head trainer Hal Bannasch says the business opened in 1993, and clients speak only with him rather than a receptionist or sales rep.

About the trainer

Hal grew up around his father's hunting dogs, then joined the United States Air Force K-9 program, working as a patrol dog handler and then in bomb detection. After his discharge he trained bomb and drug dogs in South Florida and spent 12 years doing in-home training there. He says he works with 25-30 dogs a week and is a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals.

Programs

Hal believes training works best where problem behavior happens, at home, and does not follow any one method. The Well Mannered Pet program teaches heeling at the left leg, with one lesson in public, plus door manners, mealtime manners and socialization with other dogs. Advanced Obedience covers off-leash behavior at the beach, in the woods or in a park. Tricks for Treats teaches fun tricks after the first program.
