About Canine Ph.D. Dog Training, Inc.

What they do

Canine Ph.D. runs group classes and private training out of its own Decatur facility, plus a boarding school open to current clients and a saltwater swimming pool. The class schedule published on the site includes Perfect Puppy, Life Skills and an off-leash Puppy Social Hour described as “all about developing healthy social skills with other dogs,” with instructors interrupting rough play and bullying and working collar grabs, recalls, leave it and sit.

How they work

The business states its aim as transforming “misbehaving dogs into well-mannered companions by providing best-in-class education for a lifetime of learning,” and says its instructors provide “permanent solutions to pet behavior problems — not quick fixes that vanish as soon as you leave the classroom.” The published problem list runs from everyday manners and destructive behavior through to aggression, reactivity, fearfulness, phobias and separation anxiety, and includes raising puppies and settling newly adopted shelter dogs. Some classes require a consultation first, and some carry a prerequisite.

Where they work

The facility is at 245 Dekalb Industrial Way, Decatur, GA 30030. The site also advertises services for veterinarians and shelters and runs a public class calendar with sign-up.
