About Canine Solutions

Canine Solutions is a boarding, grooming and training campus at "1072 Powdermill Hill Road Lawrenceburg, TN 38464". The business describes itself as "a state-of-the-art pet resort, nestled in a peaceful valley of southern Middle Tennessee" and says its "14 acre campus provides the finest lodging with customizable playfields, as well as wooded walking trails." It also claims seniority in its own corner of the state: "Established in 2001, Canine Solutions is the oldest and most experienced pet resort in Lawrence and Giles county."

Three obedience courses, by age

Training is published as a ladder rather than a menu. Puppy Kindergarten runs for ages "9 weeks – 4 months", private lessons only, described as "a treat based class where your dog will learn let's go, sit, lay down, come, as well as a problem-solving consultation designed specifically for your dog." Basic on Leash Obedience is for dogs four months and up and covers "heel, sit ,sit-stay, down, down-stay, and recall". Advance Obedience is the top of the ladder, for dogs a year and older that have completed the basic course – "This off leash course is the completion to your obedience journey."

Private lessons or board and train

Both formats are offered for the same curriculum. The residential option is described as being "for those in search of a training transformation without the time commitment as an owner", with the dog staying "for the 2 week course" and follow-up lessons afterwards. The private track runs five lessons with homework between them. Vaccination requirements for rabies, distemper/parvo and bordetella are published.

Who teaches

The owner is named on the site as "Candace Malone", described there as "Owner & Certified Professional Trainer". The business says she is a 1998 graduate of West Virginia Canine College, founded Canine Solutions in 2001, and has continued her education through the APDT and the PCSA – all of it the business's own account rather than a registry check. A second trainer, David, is described as coming from three decades of law-enforcement and wildlife K-9 work.
