About Cape Fear Dog Training Club
Cape Fear Dog Training Club is a membership club that teaches the public, and its own history is the headline: "The Cape Fear Dog Training Club is the oldest dog training club in North Carolina. Our club began in 1952 and is a non-profit organization licensed by the American Kennel Club."
What they publish
The class list is split between house manners and competition work. On the pet side: a Beginner class and Canine Good Citizen. On the competition side: Rally Novice, Rally Intermediate, and Novice, Open and Utility obedience. The club states that classes are taught "from instructors who have earned a variety of obedience titles on their dogs."
What it costs
This is one of the few local trainers that publishes a price. Its own page says "The total cost per six or seven week training session is $125.00. We accept checks or cash (sorry, no credit cards.)" Registration runs through a named club contact.
Beyond the classes
The club describes a community-service side: obedience demonstrations for community groups, nursing homes and schools, career-education days, and the purchase of pet oxygen masks for Fayetteville City Fire Departments, transport crates for the city K-9 department and training items for the county sheriff's K-9 department.
