About CJ’s Golden Home (Golden Retriever puppies) & Play Nice Therapy Dog Training

What they offer

CJ's Golden Home, which also runs Play Nice Therapy Dogs, is a Golden Retriever breeder at 16101 W Maple St in Goddard that provides training to all dogs. The home page says it uses positive reinforcement and specializes in custom training to fit each client.

Training programs

The dog training page lays out a staged program. Preschool training takes place in your home and covers baseline skills, hand feeding, leash tethering, bite inhibition and handling, luring to sit and to come, and potty and crate training. Elementary School moves into public settings and includes the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program. Middle School adds heeling, stays and AKC Canine Good Citizen training. High School builds recalls and stays with distance and distraction. A College Level program introduces therapy dog work in public and community locations.

Good to know

The levels with a posted schedule run one day a week for five weeks, with a travel charge for homes more than 10 miles from the trainer's property. The business also breeds Golden Retrievers and offers stud services.
