What they offer

Complete K9 is a dog training business at 3031 W Pawnee St, Suite 500, in Wichita. Its site lists group classes, board and train, private sessions, a service dog program, protection work, search and rescue and online sessions.

Group classes

The group class page says obedience classes are six weeks long and meet for up to an hour each week at its climate controlled facility. Basic Obedience classes start every six to eight weeks, and Intermediate and Advanced Obedience classes follow. The page describes teaching owners to motivate their dogs with treats, toys and praise, and says classes must be prepaid to reserve a spot.

Board and train

Board-and-train packages come in two-week and four-week options. At the end, the trainer shows owners what the dog has learned and how to maintain it, and the page says there is no cookie cutter training.

Private sessions and protection

The private sessions page says one-on-one sessions are recommended for dogs showing aggression or anxiety, and for owners who cannot make group classes; trainers can come to your home or train at the facility. The protection work page describes command-trained protection dogs, with obedience included in the bite training and an assessment first, since not every dog suits the work. An intruder test service lets a suited decoy check whether a dog will greet or protect.

Service dog program

The service dog page says the program follows ADA guidelines and requires a doctor's or therapist's recommendation letter. It lists PTSD alert, psychiatric alert, diabetic alert, seizure response, allergy alert, mobility assist and hearing assistance work, and it sets requirements for the dog, including age and a calm, confident temperament.

About the team

The team page says Complete K9 was started in March of 2009 by its owner and senior trainer, Toney, who has competed in AKC, UKC and IPO events, trained in search and rescue, and is an AKC CGC evaluator. The facility is open by appointment only.
