About Control Your K9

Balanced training in Miami

Control Your K9 is a Miami dog training business run by trainer Andrew Sphar, who received his dog training certificate from Animal Behavior College in 2017. The business has served Miami and surrounding neighborhoods since 2019, including El Portal, Morningside, Wynwood, Midtown, Edgewater, South Beach, Brickell, Little Havana, Coconut Grove and Coral Gables. Andrew describes a balanced philosophy rooted in science and compassion: positive reinforcement in most basic training, especially with puppies 3 to 6 months old, combined with fair, well-timed corrections. He says tools like prong collars, slip leads or e-collars can be used properly and humanely to communicate clearly, not as punishment.
