About Custom Canine Unlimited

Custom Canine Unlimited runs its headquarters in Gainesville and is the largest operation on this page by some distance. Its site describes a business built by former law enforcement and military K-9 handlers and trainers, and the working-dog side of the house is what it leads with: selection and supply of working dogs, handler courses, detection and tracking curricula, and an equipment store.

Pet owners are served too

It would be easy to read the site as agency-only and miss the consumer side, but it is there. The FAQ answers questions about puppy-specific classes, describing programs that emphasize socialization, basic obedience, engagement and confidence-building, and it answers separation-anxiety questions with puppy programs covering early independence, routine building, crate comfort and controlled separation exercises. Basic obedience and advanced training are both named.

Detection and handler work

Alongside the pet programs the company advertises drug, explosives and contraband detection teams, tracking and search-and-rescue teams, and patrol and guard teams for hire, plus decoy training and a membership scheme for people working in the industry. If what you want is a family dog taught to walk nicely, this is an unusual place to find it, and it is worth saying on the phone which side of the business you are calling about.
