About Dog Obedience by Gina, LLC

Certified, fear-free training and home boarding in Belvidere

Dog Obedience by Gina describes a training philosophy "rooted in positive reinforcement and compassion," with sessions tailored to each dog's personality rather than run off a fixed syllabus. The business pairs training with what it calls The D.O.G.House – boarding in the trainer's own home rather than a kennel run, where the site says dogs get "the full run of our home, lounging on the sofa, sleeping in cozy nooks and supervised swim time for the pups who love to splash," with no surcharges for the essentials.

Credentials the site lists

The about section says Gina is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and an honors graduate of Animal Behavior College who now teaches new students entering the mentorship phase of that course. It also lists Fear Free Certified Professional status, membership of the Pet Professional Guild, the Animal Behavior College dog trainer certification (ABCDT), Family Dog Mediator, and completed coursework in Cooperative Veterinary Care and Husbandry Skills alongside CPR and first aid.

Equipment policy

The site is unambiguous about tools: "We will never use any shock, prong or choke collars. We prefer that you learn to have a wonderful relationship with your dog built on love, trust and mutual respect." Clients quoted on the site repeatedly mention weekly written lesson plans and guidance on shifting from treats toward verbal rewards. Note that the site was carrying an "OUR BOOKS ARE FULL" notice, so availability is worth confirming before you plan around it.
