About Dogminded
Dogminded is a behavior practice that works entirely online. That is the first thing to know about it, and it is the reason it appears here without a town of its own: the site names no premises and no service area, and everything it sells is delivered virtually. For an owner in a rural county where the nearest in-person behavior help can be an hour away, that is either exactly right or exactly wrong, and it is worth deciding which before you book.
What it does
The core offering is private coaching, described as "Virtual coaching tailored for you and your dog", aimed at behavior challenges rather than obedience drills. Alongside it sits a Behavior and Health Assessment, which the site frames as checking whether hidden physical discomfort is what is standing in the way of progress – the practice's distinctive idea is that behavior and health are the same question. There are also self-paced online programs covering training, enrichment, vet visits and dog essentials, a newsletter and membership community, and a separate track for dog professionals.
The approach
The trainer's account of how she got here is on the site: her own dog was frightened of walking in the neighborhood, conventional advice made it worse, and she moved to a positive reinforcement approach centered on wellness rather than obedience. Her stated position is direct – "there's a lot more to life with dogs than teaching commands and getting compliance. So, you won't find any of that here." If what you want is a heel and a reliable recall, this is not the practice for it.
What it cannot do
Because it is online, nobody sees your dog in your kitchen or on your road. Hands-on cases – a dog that needs physical handling, leash work rehearsed with a coach present, or a group setting to work around other dogs – want someone local. The natural fit here is a coaching relationship where the work happens between sessions and you are the one doing it.
Who it’s best for
Best for an owner who wants behavior coaching from wherever they are, and who is willing to be the hands on the leash themselves.
