About DogSense Training

What they offer

DogSense is a dog training school on Justin Merrill Road in Buxton, built on trust, patience and positive reinforcement. Its lead trainer has more than 25 years of hands-on experience, is a certified Wag It Games instructor and judge and a canine fitness coach, and competes with her own dogs.

Classes

A puppy class for puppies eight to sixteen weeks old tackles housebreaking, mouthing, chewing, meeting people and appropriate play, along with sit, stay, recall and polite leash walking. A beginner class for dogs of any age teaches foundation skills and impulse control, and an intermediate class adds distance, duration and distractions. Agility classes run from pre-agility foundations to full courses, outdoors in summer and indoors in winter, and Fast on the Flat offers a lower-impact version. Wag It Games, K9 fitness and a class for senior dogs round out the schedule.

Private lessons

Private lessons suit families who want one-on-one guidance, including dogs struggling with resource guarding, dog-to-dog aggression, leash walking, house-soiling, anxiety, fear or shyness, barking, car manners, handling and new-baby preparation, and they also cover coaching for dog sports.
