About Family Companions Dog Training
Balanced training in Sherwood
Family Companions Dog Training in Sherwood offers balanced dog training built around three words: balance, structure, reliability. Each plan is customized to the individual dog, looking at the psychology behind its behavior and at breed traits.
The trainer
The trainer has trained animals for 14 years, starting with racehorses, and in 2018 began an internship at Huffman K9 Obedience, an extensive 1,000-hour course, before being hired there as a professional trainer. That work covered behavioral issues and specialty skills including tracking, personal protection and detection, as well as service, ESA and therapy dogs.
Packages
Every client starts with a two-hour initial consultation for $150. One-hour sessions are $140 each, or $390 for three, $600 for five and $1,100 for ten, the last aimed at aggression, fearfulness, hyper excitability or specialty skills such as off-leash obedience, service or therapy work, detection and tracking. Graduates of private sessions can join a six-week group class for $240, with $40 drop-ins afterward. Nail trimming is available to current clients.
