Fantastic Canines serves St. Charles, St. Peters, St. Louis County and surrounding areas. Its stated aim is to help owners build a reliable, fun and respectful relationship with their dogs through clear lines of communication.

Method

The team describes a mixture of relationship-based and balanced training methods, with each program tailored to the individual dog.

Programs

Board and train runs in the trainers' home with supplemental lessons, weekly reports, training logs, videos and photos. Puppy Camper and Puppy School are for puppies under 9 months; On Leash & Manners is for dogs 9 months and older, and an Off-Leash program follows after at least four weeks of On Leash & Manners. Fantastic Fitness is a day-training option, Tuesday through Saturday, with at least three one-on-one sessions, walks, field trips and supervised small-group play for $50 a day; it is not suited to dogs with a history of aggression. Private lessons are offered for all ages. Evaluations and consultations are $20 for about an hour, and programs include lifetime phone and email support.

Contact

The site lists an email address and a survey to request an evaluation; hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

What to ask

Ask which program fits your dog's age, where board and train dogs stay, and whether training equipment is included.
