About Game of Bones Dog Training & Pet Sitting

Game of Bones is Aron Winter's training and pet-sitting business. He launched it in the Hudson Valley in 2021 and relocated to Albany in 2024, and the About page is unusually specific about how he got here.

The route into training

Over fifteen years working with animals and more than a decade as a professional pet sitter and dog walker, then a return to school: he earned his certification through CATCH Canine Trainers Academy, which he describes as a comprehensive educational program in science-based training practices. He is also certified in Predation Substitute Training through Simone Muller's program.

Where the experience came from

After graduating he worked as an assistant dog trainer with CNY Pet Training & Behavior under a behavior consultant he names with her full credential string, and worked hands-on with dogs of all breeds and backgrounds at the municipal shelter in Syracuse. He credits those two settings with shaping a compassionate, evidence-based approach.

Predation substitute training

This is the part worth flagging for a Capital Region owner. Predation Substitute Training is a specific protocol for dogs whose chasing, stalking and hunting behavior is the problem – a common and genuinely difficult case with herding and sighthound types, and one that generic obedience work rarely solves. Nobody else in this metro's supply publishes a certification in it.

The rest of the business

Training runs alongside professional pet sitting and dog walking, with services, reviews, documents and links published on the site. Credentials above are recorded as claims: neither CATCH nor the Predation Substitute Training program is among the registries this directory checks for New York.
