About Gobess Dog Training

Gobess Dog Training is based in Astoria, Queens, and says what it specializes in on its front page: board-and-train programs, plus personalized in-home sessions designed to change a dog's behavior.

The two formats

Those two formats sit at opposite ends of the effort scale. Board and train hands the dog over for a residential program; in-home sessions keep the dog in its own environment and work with the owner there. A business that leads with board and train is usually being asked for behavior change rather than puppy manners, and that is how this one frames the in-home work too.

What it says it is for

The line the business puts above everything else is "Providing Freedom and Harmony for Dogs" – a statement about the outcome rather than about a method. The site also carries a groomer section, a gallery, an FAQ and an Instagram feed, and takes enquiries through a form on the front page.

What to ask

Ask about the method, certifications, who the trainer is and the price. Prospective clients should expect to establish those on the first call.
