About Dog Training Elite Wilmington

Dog Training Elite Wilmington is the franchise's Wilmington, NC territory, reachable on a 910 number and selling itself on what its own pages call "40+ years of experience" behind the Dog Training Elite system.

What they publish

The program menu is obedience training, puppy training, service dog training, therapy dog training, group classes and an anxiety and aggression program. Under "Behavior Solutions" the site lists socialization, biting, fear and reactiveness, separation anxiety, excessive barking, staying and coming, potty training, and destructive chewing and digging. Off-leash work has its own page: "Off-leash obedience requires a high level of training, where your dog listens and responds, even in a distracting environment."

How the training runs

The stated method is positive reinforcement – "widely recognized as one of the most effective and humane methods for training puppies and adult dogs" – with rewards used to make repetition of good behavior worthwhile. One package is delivered in the client's own home: manners, safety and boundaries "taught on location where behavior issues may arise", listening skills that survive distraction, eight one-on-one sessions and six months of group classes. The site asks you to call for pricing.

Where they work

The site lists a service area of Wilmington, Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, Hampstead, Leland, Southport, Oak Island, Boiling Spring Lakes and New Hanover County. It describes itself as a veteran-owned business.
