About Good Human Dog Training

Good Human Dog Training trades on its site as Jennifer Thornburg Behavior Consulting, and it is not a general obedience school. The line it leads with is "Behavior, not basic manners. I specialize in the cases that need more than an obedience class."

The three problems it names

Fear and anxiety – strangers, sounds, new places. Reactivity – barking, lunging and growling on leash, with the stated aim of helping the owner understand what is driving the reaction. Resource guarding – food, toys, space, people, reduced "without confrontation". The site's framing for all three is the case that did not budge with other training.

Credentials and why they are listed

The site publishes CDBC with the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, CPDT-KA, and KPA CTP from the Karen Pryor Academy, with 20-plus years of behavior consulting. It also states its reason for listing them: "Dog training is an unregulated industry. Anyone can call themselves a trainer. Credentials mean accountability." Jennifer is separately described as Behavior Program Manager at Forsyth Humane Society, assessing shelter dogs.

How the practice runs

Availability is limited by design – the site says Jennifer works with two package clients at a time and asks new enquirers to join a waitlist, with a reply inside 48 hours. She writes that she is an NC native living in Winston-Salem, and the site describes the practice as woman-owned and LGBTQ inclusive.
