About Jim Hodges Dog Training
Jim Hodges Dog Training is run from Twin Meadows Drive in Pfafftown. The site's own line is "There are no bad dogs. Only bad training", and the framing throughout is leadership within the household.
The programs
Six programs are listed. Private Dog Training in the client's home, and private training at the trainer's own home. Residency Dog Training as a 14-15 day board and train, described specifically as the dog living with him "not in a kennel environment", and suggested for vacations or extended travel. An Extended Residency Training Program of two to six weeks. Behavior Modification, offered either one-on-one or as residency, to address extreme behaviors. And Puppy Do's and Don'ts, aimed at the critical early learning stage.
What is taught
The site sets out six commands it treats as the core: Let's Go for leash walking, Sit, Down, Come, Place, and Stay, each with a short explanation of why it matters in the house. Place, for example, is framed as a spot the dog goes to when guests arrive.
Background
The trainer writes that he has been studying dogs, dog training and dog behavior professionally for almost twenty years, all of it in Winston-Salem, and that he has attended several training schools and seminars and works with trainers internationally. Residency dogs currently in the program are introduced by name on the site.
Also sold
A small store carries chews and leashes, and there is a YouTube channel under the business name.
Who it’s best for
Best for an owner who wants residency training in a house rather than a kennel run.
