About Goosebuster Retrievers

Immersion training in New Plymouth

Goosebuster Retrievers in New Plymouth specializes in immersion dog training, where the dog boards and trains at the facility over a period of time, and says it can train any dog. Programs are custom designed around each dog's temperament and personality, and the gun dog program is tailored to the owner's needs. Hunting dogs in training are hunted on wild birds on the Idaho training grounds when they are ready.

Programs

Services cover hunting and gun dog training, retriever and pointing dog training, AKC field trial basics up to qualifying level, obedience, behavior modification, dog aggression training and a puppy developmental program. After training, a leadership transfer program teaches owners to maintain the work, and private lessons and refresher sessions are available by appointment. Boarding is available by reservation, and a free consultation is offered.

The trainer

Trainer Pete Eromenok started his first hunting dog in 1979 and began training his first Master Hunter in 1986. He runs his own dogs in AKC field trials and hunt tests, has judged all three levels of the AKC hunt test program, and developed a specialty program for aggressive dogs in which his own dogs help stabilize unbalanced dogs.
