About Great Salt Lake Dog Training

A nonprofit training club

The Great Salt Lake Dog Training Club is a nonprofit organization in the West Jordan area dedicated to helping the public train their dogs to be good citizens, promoting responsible dog ownership and participation in dog activities. All dogs are invited to train with the club and join it. Classes are led by club instructors, and the club is run by an elected board and committee officers for obedience, rally, tracking and scent work.

Classes

Wednesday classes include the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy program, beginning obedience, intermediate obedience with CGC prep, advanced obedience and a trick class, with signups held on set evenings and classes starting the following week. Tuesday classes cover beginning, advanced and competition scent work and beginning and competition rally. Competitive classes require a CGC or equivalent, and competition scent requires a qualifying score from an AKC, UKC or C-WAGS trial. The club also offers tracking, conformation and AKC Temperament Test classes. Owners bring vaccination history and payment to signups, and dogs stay home that evening.
